Alexei's ears are slightly pointed. The reason for this is apparently a distant ancestor marrying a half-elf into the family. Though there is little sign of any other traits being passed down, this one physical quirk remains.

Alexei is the head of the Varob family, a prestigious line of nobles who once owned an estate in the Starhaven Valley but then moved into a large manor in the Lapis Ring of Triswell once the city was constructed in the Fifth Age.
Alexei is the current head of the Cryptwings, a cult devoted to ritualistic murders in order to bolster the souls serving Orbivem, the King of Crows. The leader of the Cryptwings has been the head of the Varob family since the cult was founded in 5A103 by Alexei's great-grandfather, Gandlis Varob.
Alexei met his wife, Lady Luciana Varob, through the Cryptwings. Fascinated by someone as brutal and meticulous in the art of murder and the process of bodily dissection as him, they began a romance. Alexei often delegates to his wife in matters involving the cult, recognizing that she has a better "face" for public facing positions. Luciana is a member of the Murder, the inner circle of the Cryptwings.
Education
Alexei's family influence allowed him to be trained by private tutors from the Holy Church.

Alexei is a sociopath, and incapable of feeling empathy. It is a genetic trait passed down the Varob line.

Alexei has no overriding moral compass. He believes in his holy cause, and does not feel any remorse in doing unspeakably horrible things under the guise of bolstering his God's power. On the contrary, he derives a good amount of pleasure from doing it.

They are dedicated to fueling the Gods of Order's power base by sending as many souls as possible to their divine realms, with a particular emphasis on the The King of Crows.

The Varob family was once one of the four noble houses of the Starhaven Valleys before the Mists descended and drove the people out following the 5th Great Conjunction. Alexei still proudly holds onto his family's titles and wealth, even though their traditional family estate has not been seen in over a century.
