Elder Dragons

The Great Eldwyrms of the realms have each carved out their own domains, collectively referred to as the Draco Imperium, “Dragon Empires.” Each would likely be capable of conquering and maintaining control over most or all of the realms, if not for the others standing in their way. They are divided between two blessings, the “good” metallic dragons of Aurora and the “evil” chromatic dragons of Umbra. While their immense size and strength are imposing enough, employing legions of their offspring, often ridden by their minions, makes their forces that much more daunting. But beyond that, the magic that emanates from their presence influences both the environment of their empires and molds their followers according to their whims. Earning an Eldwyrm’s favor is a path to wealth and power beyond measure, while their ire spells nearly certain death. Similarly, some have learned from the dragon riders and taken flying mounts such as griffins or wyverns. The skies are perilous, and it is dangerous to go alone.
