Rieta Asmodaiya
Unlike her bookish sister, Rieta Asmodaiya almost seems to revel in the trappings of what people stereotypically believe about tieflings. A hotheaded teen with too much power, not enough sense, and who has had to grow up faster than she should have, her favorite pastimes seem to be charming and seducing or dominating and terrifying others, showing off her magic abilities, and if she happens to make a little money as an adventurer in the process, all the better. Though she is a native of Baldur's Gate, she traveled to Waterdeep to inform her distant and oblivious sister Bryseis of some family news, and stayed because Bryseis was away at the time and the adventuring life was so lucrative. She has begun to make a name and a life for herself in Waterdeep, though as of late she has been allowed to stay with Bryseis at Blackstaff Academy ever since that...incident...with that apparently undead mage. Rieta is almost the polar opposite of her sister, in fact, just about the only things they have in common are their silver eyes (as does the entire Asmodaiya family lineage) and the ease at which they learn fire magic. She has deep red skin with a slight purple tint, black shoulder-length hair styled in a bob with bangs, and horns somewhat similar in shape to those of a bull. She wears black studded leather armor in a style that exposes her midriff, occasionally with a cloak over it. Where Bryseis is awkward and mild, Rieta is charismatic yet intimidating, and very, very attractive. And while Bryseis decided to turn her back on the ways of the Asmodaiya family to become a wizard, Rieta is a warlock of Asmodeus, like her mother, and like every other non-sorcerer in the Asmodaiya family line.

Mental characteristics
Rieta was born in Baldur's Gate, the youngest child of Lilith Asmodaiya and her husband, Venture. She grew up in the shadows of her older brother Damakos, a competent sorcerer even at a young age, as well as her older sister Bryseis, who was not capable of sorcery but instead was being groomed to be a warlock of Asmodeus. Since Rieta did not have the knack for sorcery either, she also was groomed to be a warlock. That is how it is to be an Asmodaiya, and has been ever since their ancestor Lilith, the first Asmodaiya, along with the rest of the Toril Thirteen summoned and bound the blood of all tieflingkind to Asmodeus. Like all of the Asmodaiya children, Rieta attended the Baldur's Gate School for Tieflings where her mother taught. Damakos left home when he was in his late teens to become an adventurer, and Bryseis rejected the honor of forging a pact to their ancestor, choosing to be a wizard instead. When it was her time, Rieta did forge a pact with Asmodeus to become one of his warlocks. Rieta remained in Baldur's Gate for many years, helping her mother teach at the school and care for her ailing father, and learning from her mother's fiendology expertise by helping her with her consultations. Almost ten years passed before a letter was received by the family that indicated that Damakos was alive, and after many failed attempts to send word to Bryseis by letter, Rieta went to Waterdeep to dispatch the news to Bryseis herself. When she arrived in Waterdeep, Bryseis was away on some University business, so Rieta stayed, getting involved in adventuring for profit after being hired by Glinnen Baldurk of the Rolling Stone Trading Company. She delivered the news to Bryseis upon her return, and had been staying at the Gray Gryphon Inn when she was kidnapped by the evil, undead mage Miralancer and held in a cage as bait. Rieta was eventually rescued by her sister, her close friend (who had also had a sister kidnapped), and several other adventuring associates. Ever since, she has been staying with her sister at Blackstaff Academy.
Pansexual, but men are easier to seduce.
Rieta, like her siblings, was educated at the Baldur's Gate School for Tieflings that her mother helped found and taught classes at. After completing education there, her mother involved her in more hands-on education in the natures and characteristics of various types of fiends. Her patron, the devil god Asmodeus, is the source of her magical power and he is sometimes more than eager to devise tests that...prove valuable lessons for the young Rieta.
On one of her first adventures in Waterdeep, Rieta recovered the phylactery of the lich Halus Tarse along with Xion and a few others, and rescued several sick children. To keep it hidden from the lich himself and other parties who would be interested in its location, Rieta stored it in a bag of holding. On another occasion, Rieta, Xion, Utopia (who should be more interested in her tiefling heritage), and an oaf named Gari Brightwood rescued several wererat children from the sewers and discovered a network of teleportation stones. The children were able to be cured of their affliction by the priestesses of Selune. On a different assignment, Rieta helped kill a dragon! It was a wyrmling, but still. Rieta has had a standoff with a beholder and convinced it to tell her where the location of the entrance of Vanrackdoom was. Rieta has successfully convinced (or so she thinks) Vanrack Moonstar that she failed at bringing in Ochs because of outside interference. She also killed the beast of the sewers. Honestly, though she won't admit it, one of her greatest achievements is beginning to develop real friendships. Xion is a dear friend to her and her closest confidant, and she is beginning to make genuine friends with Delola and Lyra.
Rieta was kidnapped by Miralancer and kept in a cage as bait, or possibly a sacrifice to Shar, the goddess of secrets. In her desperation to prevent herself, her sister, and her friends from dying, she agreed to work secretly for Vanrack Moonstar. Rieta also believes that her actions toward Ochs, despite trying to make things better, have actually caused people that she cares about to hate her.
Aside from bidding that might be required to appease her patron, Rieta follows her whims, and if they happen to align with someone else's motives and they are willing to pay her for the privilege, all the better. But she will not go out of her way to harm anyone that she doesn't think deserves it.
Rieta has a soft spot for children and a deep reverence for mothers (because mothers are powerful beings, capable of things that others are not), and will go out of her way to help them or prevent harm to them.
Personality Characteristics
Rieta's main motivation is to live up to, or ideally exceed, her mother's expectations and the expectations of her family heritage. Her other motivations include seducing or otherwise gaining power over others, and going out to have a good time.
Rieta is surprisingly good with children. Due to her infernal heritage, she has extreme difficulty, almost to the point of impossibility, to learn water- or ice-based spells.
Likes power, charming or dominating others, children, drinking, having fun, that she can trace her ancestry directly to Asmodeus himself. Dislikes being told what to do, being a pawn, horrific acts being done to those who don't deserve it.
Rieta is hotheaded, haughty, and has a huge ego that hides a bit of an inferiority complex.
Social
Though she is not a member, she is registered with the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors.
Though she lives with and under the watch of her sister Bryseis, the two have a strained relationship. Rieta sees Bryseis' refusal to forge a pact with Asmodeus and become a warlock, resorting to wizardry instead, to be a betrayal of their mother, the Asmodaiya family, its heritage, and its traditions. Bryseis in return sees Rieta as feeding into the stereotypes and prejudices that other races have about tieflings, and being naive and refusing to understand what it really means to be aligned with and dedicated to evil gods who have evil motives. Rieta loves her mother Lilith dearly and wants nothing more to make her proud by meeting, or exceeding the expectations put upon her.
While Rieta does not fastidiously worship any particular god, Asmodeus is her patron and ancestor, so she often pays reverence or prayers to him and does her best to advance his goals that align with her way of life. She will also pray to Oghma on occasion.
Rieta is extremely charismatic. She is highly capable of, and enjoys, convincing people to do things that they otherwise wouldn't desire to do (for example, seducing someone who wouldn't dream of involving themselves with a tiefling). She has an oversize ego and confidence to boot, and is perfectly content with striking fear into the heart of someone she couldn't otherwise charm.
Not a pet, but Rieta has a skull friend. The spirits of the victims that the lich Halus Tarse fed into his former(?) phylactery have begun to speak to her through the skull. Rieta finds them to be an excellent source of advice, and occasionally, random conversation.
Swears and typically delivers insults in Infernal rather than Common. Will sometimes slip into Infernal-inflected pronunciations of words or names spoken in Common.
Nicknames & Petnames
Rieta calls Bryseis "Bry," and Bryseis will sometimes call Rieta "Ree."
Relationship Reasoning
Their relationship is strained due to both of them disapproving of the other's life choices, but deep down, they love each other and would do anything to save the other's life if it came down to it.
Daughter (Vital)
Towards Ms. Lilith Asmodaiya
While she comes from a well-off but not wealthy background, Rieta has amassed quite an amount of gold for her services as an adventurer.
