Bartertown
Bartertown was originally established as a trading post by merchants who wanted to take advantage of dwarf trading policy, but did not want to be subject to Throalic law or taxation. Over the years, the temporary huts and stalls gave rise to more permanent structures, though even those were cobbled together from available resources, and even though it has been in place for decades, Bartertown gives a strong impression of a shanty town.
