Holley's Way

Holley's Way is a small town built along the road from the Dolset Snowfields to Stendar. Holley's Way was built as a rest stop for members of Klihk'ka Hahk where they can rest for the night for a cheap price. Holley's Way is always a hot gossip spot due to the Klihk'ka Hahk members bringing with them word from across all of northern Ebresia.

Government

Bert Ronchessac is the Pekka of Holley's Way and the surrounding area. He works under Hordam Nesk collecting taxes and relaying notable information.

Defences

Human citizens of Holly's Way are trained in basic combat training as per the laws of the Ruthorian Empire. They also have a small contingent of guards mostly made up of teens who have already taken their mandatory combat training and don't want to be a part of the family business. A majority of their guard force is filled by soldiers of house Neska when they aren't needed elsewhere.

Industry & Trade

The economy of Holleys Way relies entirely on members of Klihk'ka Hahk constantly passing through while delivering messages. The citizens of Holley's Way work their hardest to make sure that the path through their town is the safest and most enjoyable path members of Klihk'ka Hahk going to Ruthoria can take. They use most of the gold they get to purchase exotic trinkets from merchants or travelers which they can resell to Klihk'ka Hahk members as a souvenir at a higher price. They are also well known for their high-quality cashmere sweaters, normally died red to fit the cozy atmosphere of the village. They also tap pine trees to make glue which they sell to merchants traveling through the village at a cheap price.

Infrastructure

  • Aarakocra perches: The citizens of Holley's Way have set up many high T-shaped poles for members of Klihk'ka Hahk to roost on. Citizens often tye red woolen strings from pole to pole to brighten the atmosphere of Holley's Way.

Assets

  • Goats: Although not native to the area, the citizens of Holley's Way adore mountain goats and breed them as livestock. They gain many useful assets from this such as cashmere, goat milk, goat dairy products, and goat meat.
  • Glue: Many of the nearby pine trees of the Pinewood Grove are tapped. The citizens of Holley's Way use this sap to predominantly create glue, which they export at a high price but sell cheap locally so as to increase foot traffic.

Guilds and Factions

  • Klihk'ka Hahk: The members of Klihk'ka Hahk are essential for the economy of Holley's Way, for their entire economy is based on Klihk'ka Hahk members spending their gold while passing through.

History

The citizens say that the village was settled on the point where the first ever Klihk'ka Hahk member to travel from the Dolset Snowfields to Ruthoria, named Holley, set up camp for the first time. There is no evidence for this and is most likely a lie made up by the citizens to increase tourism.

Tourism

Tourists and members of Klihk'ka Hahk choose to travel through Holley's Way for its pleasant and homey atmosphere. The smells of baking pastries and delicious sweets fill the streets, bringing comfort and deprive from the dangerous lives of adventures and messengers alike. Citizens of Holley's Way are mostly all craftsmen and service providers who target tourists and travelers with souvenirs and services to make the visit as enjoyable as possible. They are known to have the best baked goods and sweets in northern Ruthoria.

Architecture

Most buildings in Holley's way are built with either wood are stone and have red tile roofs.

Geography

Holley's Way is located in the Pinewood Grove, and it is very chilly all year around. To compensate for this, almost all the citizens will be found wearing colorful but rather itchy sweaters made of cashmere. They get most of their water from the pinewood river, avoiding the bacteria-filled stagnant water of The Great Basin.

Natural Resources

  • Wood: Wood is easily avalible for chopping in the Pinewood Grove.
  • Pine sap: The citizens of Holley's Way tap the nearby pine trees which they use to create glue as an export.
  • Goats: Mountain goats have traveled down the road from the peaks of Hecron to Holley's Way, where they are bred and used for wool, meat, and dairy products.
