Peaks of Hecron (Heck-ron)
A large mountain range made of stark white stone that towers above northern Ruthoria. It is well known for its natural hot springs and tranquil atmosphere, which is at some times questionable considering a large population of Orcs live in the deeper parts of the mountains.
Geography
The geography of the Hecron peaks is rather normal for a mountain range. It is very rocky and the rock itself is predominantly white limestone which always is covered in a layer of chalk-like dust and debris. It is also a geothermal hotspot, creating geysers and hot springs which are popular tourist destinations.
Climate
The climate of all of northern Ruthoria including the peaks of Hecron is very cold. Not so cold that it snows all year round, but cold enough to where it only gets to about a maximum of 70 degrees °F during the summer.
Natural Resources
- Stone: Stone is a very plentiful and easy to acquire resource from the mountains because the outside layer of stone is relatively soft.
- Hot springs: The natural hot spring of the peaks of Hecron are a very popular tourist destination and are heavily exploited by the natives for profit.
- Mithral: The peaks of Hecron have a very small amount of Mithral hidden deep within. It is theorized that there used to be much more Mithral in the past, though most of the veins were tapped by the ancient Fornian dwarves.
Tourism
The sights of the chalky rock or a trip to the wonderful hot springs attracts tourists to the Hecron peaks from all across Egapesh. It is known to have some of the most peaceful landscapes, looking over the edge of the mountains while relaxing in a warm hot spring in contrast to the biting winter air.
