Iron Mountain

" It's like one of the Gods dropped thier coin pouch and never went back for it. And it got covered in Orcs. And Monsters. And Men. And Dwarves. I guess I would have left it there too." - Taryn Wanderfoot
A strange sight in northern Jote is a place called Iron Mountain. A single mountain surrounded by a broad swamp and rocky foothills sits on an otherwise flat landscape. The mountain is rich with innumerable resources, so much so that the ores and precious stones have been seen glinting the sun for miles away. This has made the mountain a highly contested territory in the past. It is currently owned by the Kingdom of Jote with the mountain and settlement under the leadership of Drew Carrar. The Orcs of Jote claim the mountain as their ancestral home and view it as their holy land. They have never stopped trying to take it back since they lost it to the Zevalon Dynasty. They regained it for a time at the end of the Gosan Insurrection under the leadership of DoomMaul.

Legend

According to legend Iron Mountain was the hoard of Dhajun, God of Dragons over the years he grew tired of defending it from "insects" he abandoned it to find a better place to live. This story is counter to the stories told by the Orcs of Jote. They believe that Iron Mountain was the throne of Agenar, God of the Orcs and Goblins and the birthplace of the Orcs and Goblins his servants and people. They say that Agenar went out on a glorious hunt with his people and was gone or many days. While he was gone Dhajun, in the arrogance of Dragons, decided that would be a better place for him and took it as his own. When Agenar returned from the hunt he was furious that his home had become a mountains dragon hoard. Dhajun and Agenar fought all around the mountain forming the noxious swamps and dangerous foothills. During the fighting Dhajun gouged out Agenar's left eye and Agenar, in his rage, ripped out Dhajun's left eye causing him to flee. Agenar replaced his own destroyed eye with the dragon eye. Agenar ruled the iron mountain until the days of the Divine Accords then left it to his servants.
