Darekrun Bonecleaver

Darekrun Bonecleaver was a paladin, the grandmaster of the Kaelic Order of the Radiant Defender from EL 978 until his death in 1000. Born to Baron Ibsfit and Baroness Ledwynn Bonecleaver of Vikada, he lived an innocuous life until, in 923, he was on the way to a nearby village with one guard when they were caught in the middle of a battle between stone giants and hill giants. The situation was precarious but they were spirited away by a badly wounded stone giant and hidden with his clan until it was safe a few weeks later. The stone giants treated them with kindness and Darekrun, though shaken by the experience, bore no ill will towards them, and in fact by the time they were released, he had come to call them friends. He reported that the whole episode has shaken him out of the complacency of his cushy life and he began seeking to better himself in the area of combat. He traveled all over and eventually came to Silverkeep, where he learned about the Order of the Radiant Defender, to which he felt strangely drawn. He was given his great-grandfather’s sword, Bonecleaver, as a gift when he joined the order after long and careful discernment.
He began to rise through the ranks, going on a great many holy quests. Over time his dedication became clear and he became the head of the order in 978. He next became active on the adventuring scene in the early days of the Eventide, and was the appointed leader of the army organized by the temple to Kaeli in Silverkeep and sent to the Tors to recover the Tether of Kaeli. He remained in the Prime Squadron when most of the army was sent home. When Æshir Þorlássón perished as a result of the corruption of Vetrano the Illustrious, Darekrun, together with Nemmonnis Inuthra, Pellen Overvale, and Delmirev Rhogar, fought against the fiends that sought to attack the lair of Amin-El, the ki-rin that sent the souls of Wivvyrholdalphiax Adrex and Caledaya Alvishar to retrieve him from the Space Between. Darekrun fell in battle and was laid to rest in Amin-El's lair at the mountaintop.
