The Fracturing of Larnwick

The Fracturing of Larnwick is the name given to a period of unrest and rebellion in the Jeltiri city of Larnwick in EL 1000. It was characterized by the monster attacks originating from Delamett Forest and the absolute failure of who was, at the time, believed to be Lord Robertus Corvyre, to address the problem, and the issues that arose therefrom.
In mid-July, the Light Brigade, at the behest of Sir Wivvyrholdalphiax Adrex, arrived in the city to investigate the problem. After a few days they discovered that Sir Robertus was in fact a rakshasa, a fiend which had eaten and replaced the real lord some months before. They also discovered that this rakshasa had been in cooperation with several drow allied with Mavislak the Blood-eyed, serving the monster as part of a deal for the furthering of the Eventide. The Brigade defeated the rakshasa and stayed for some days afterwards to help rebuild Larnwick, but the attacks and constant scandal had weakened, and in many cases broken, the people's trust in their authority and guard force and led to open rebellion, which was difficult to address. The incident led to the outing of many disguised agents of Mavislak from among Larnwick's militia and the rise of Lady Rosalind Corvyre, Robertus's younger sister, as ruler of Larnwick.
