Deep Half-Elf
Deep half-elves are typically born of humans taken as slaves by the deep elves, bearing children in order to work as a form of slave labor. Some of these half-elves escape, becoming free in the Underdark or escaping above the caves into the outside world.
Those that remain in the Underdark often congregate into their own villages and homes or find other peoples to live amongst, but rarely return to the deep elves themselves. Those that manage to make it above ground are often looked upon with suspicion due to their lineage, and have difficulty finding work which tends to lead them to work in the criminal underworld.
The rare few deep half-elves that manage to prove themselves end up working as priests to help others. They are rejected under the elven gods, just as their deep elf parents, but often find priesthood under the deities of humankind to be a high calling in their lives.

Because of their acute senses, half-elves are quick to spot concealed doors and hidden entranceways. Merely passing within 10’ of a concealed door allows a half-elf a one-in-six chance (1 on 1d6) to notice it. If actively searching, a half-elf’s chances improve to a two-in-six chance (1-2 on 1d6) to find secret doors, and a three-in-six chance (1-3 on 1d6) to notice a concealed door.
Especially for those raised by deep elves, the half-elves are often suspicious of altruism.
