Lunarius

God of Madness

Written by AuthorChase

Origins

Knowler and Beight created Lunarius alongside Justlight and Morana. He had no powers like other Angels, but he studied all he could alongside his father. Before the Great War, Lunarius earned a reputation as one of the greatest Scholars who had ever walked Astnyr.

Lunarius the Scholar

Past Lunarius by AuthorChase on Heroforge
Lunarius held many special interests, so he studied all of them. In his studies, he explored the land of Astnyr and uncovered numerous ancient artifacts that aligned with Knowler's theories of civilizations existing before the establishment of Astnyr. Lunarius wondered how Astnyr came to be, since there were other regions upon this planet. The closest region to Astnyr was Celmani, which Lunarius inspected upon with Winter. Winter helped Lunarius survey Celmani with his owl form, flying through the region. Lunarius received information about Celmani being a war-ridden land with monsters stalking the night, as well as the forests.   Lunarius informed Knowler of this discovery, wishing to know more of Celmani. Winter and Lunarius continued to collaborate on finding out about this war in Celmani. Lunarius also helped his sister, Morana, discover new diseases and poisons to help heal patients from these ailments. The Life Druid sent the Scholar samples of them, which Lunarius studied intensely. Thanks to this research, Morana's patients received help. The siblings were close together while living far apart.

Becoming the God of Madness

One day, Lunarius received a vision from an unknown source. This vision entailed an invasion from the region of Celmani. There was destruction across Astnyr shown, with the monsters from Celmani taking it over. Even the gods would not withstand this attack, the demons killing all of them. Lunarius would lose everything he ever loved if he ignores this vision. The voice instructed him to find it on the lone islands to the southeast, promising to grant him the power to stop the destruction of Astnyr.   Lunarius listened to the voice without telling his father where he was travelling. He would only worry over his son going to an unknown part of Astnyr. The Scholar arrived to the islands a month after he gained this vision, only to see the sun setting across the sea. However, within time, great, large tentacles emerged from the sea. This was where Lunarius was granted great power to slaughter his enemies. However, the gods would go against the god of madness.

The Great War

God of Madness by AuthorChase on Heroforge
The other gods realized too late what Lunarius had become and had no choice but to dispose of him. They saw his power as threatening to the realm. This war waged for half a century until the Light Elves finally discovered how to seal Lunarius. Containment was what Knowler wanted for the god of madness, for he was his son. The Mountain Dwarves helped with Strection and built an undersea fortress so mighty, it could seal and contain even a god. Nave reinforced the fortress with vines of magic, as Winter froze the vines with his Frost Giants’ strength. These efforts made the fortress unstoppable from both within and out.   Knowler was the one who lured Lunarius to his doom. After a fierce battle, they sealed Lunarius, the god of madness, and built Seaport soon after. However, through the centuries, there are races that remain vigil over Lunarius’ return; the Mountain Dwarves, Frost Giants, and Light Elves.
