Session 2.21
General Summary
The party continued to make their way back home aboard the Buccaneer, a mercantile class ship, with the Baricon Ore and other new items in tow. Undertaking the 10 day trek back to the requested drop off point in the southwest corner of the Carillon Isle Amethyst Isle, the party navigated south through Mongave River back through some familiar waters and others that weren’t as familiar.
Back in the familiar waters near the Crumb Islands the party came across small hooded figures who turned out to be the children previously rescued from Professor Menethis' custody. The figures who were performing some sort of ritual, stating their reason was that they were going to “Return Home.” Quickly putting the kibosh on the nonsense, the group interrupted the ritual which knocked some sense into the kids, and brought them back to the city. However, the party did not stay long as they were on a schedule.
The next strange occurrence happened when the ship came across a thick mist or a “magical fog” as the captain explained. For those that did not know Magical fog is described to take place when magic from the leylines seep through the earth and diffuse/spread into the surrounding area, and in this instance with fog. People have said that the magical fog can come with a handful of magical effects including time travel, teleportation, and even plane shifting.
According to the captain, the Buccaneer and the passengers on board had experienced a combination of the former two, as the ship that was once floating down the Mongave, in a matter of hours, had now appeared to have found itself in the open waters of the Sea of Bisquay. Trying to find a landmark, the ship continued sailing south, but not before encountering a dragon turtle and being caught up a large whirlpool. The party was able to spring into action, with Rhorn helping the captain cut the wheel against the grain, and Fannti creating a path along the water, while Zhorn and Priestess tried with all their might to counter weight ship before it could list over. Shortly afterwards the Captain was able to identify a sandbar known as Horseshoe Cove, a landmark he was able to pinpoint on the map, and using it as reference was able to correct navigation to the Amethyst Isle.
A day later the Buccaneer arrived in the port of the Amethyst Isle where a crowd had gathered upon the news of the hero's arrival had spread. Amidst the cheering, the party went back to the keep where they had debriefed Jeeves about the Baricon ore and the Book of Woe. In turn the group was informed that Lord Asos was supposed to drop in from his errands as well as there was a laundry list of city issues that needed to be addressed. The party concluded the night with a townhall meeting in the Sea Lass where Rhorn, Zhorn, Priestess Luna, and Fannti, had their first taste as nobles of a new nation.
The primary concerns raised were disputes over housing, having the supplies needed to carry out the necessities of farming, fishing, iron working, and mining, having skilled workers and artisans, a lack of leadership, and a possibility of outside threats. To which the group addressed what they could, and tabled others that could be handled at a later time.
