Session 2.24

General Summary

While attempting to make contact with the scattered members of the Peche militia, Priestess Luna was ambushed by four figures in dark robes equipped with hand sickles tethered to metal chains on the second floor terrace of the keep. It turned into a skirmish as the assailants managed to embed the hooked blades in the Priestess’s armor as they attempted to restrain her, and drag her through a portal created within the central tree. Luckily, Priestess made enough of a commotion to catch the attention of Fannti, Zhorn, and Rhorn who all came to her aid and prevented her capture.   At the conclusion of the skirmish three of the four assailants managed to escape, leaving one in the party’s custody. Fannti, Priestess Luna, and Zhorn took the captive to the interrogation room where through a unique means of torture Priestess Luna was able to ascertain that this assassin was a Drow who said he was sent by Lord Maxime Claremont. With that knowledge Priestess Luna then made contact with Lord Claremont who offered to meet with the group at the basement of the city library.   Upon following this thread, the group headed into the library where they were promptly taken underground to an antechamber where Lord Claremont stated that he is agreeable to the Terra Trial and that for his dying wish, he wanted his daughter married off to the son of Lord Luthien. To conclude the subject matter, he stated that he wished for the Terra Trial to occur the following day. He mentioned that his dying wish would be to see his daughter married off to the son of Lord Luthien. With regards to the assassin, he denied sending the assassins stating that in doing so would jeopardize any potential alliance. Fannti brought up the possibility that there may be dissent or opposition within his own faction. As a response the party brought in their prisoner named Enzo, who was promptly questioned by the Drow lord, and upon finding his answers unsatisfactory, killed him in then and there. He took his leave and said he would see you all at the Terra Trial tomorrow at Starfall Crater.   Afterwards, the group delivered the message to Lord Luthien who agreed to the date of the Terra Trial. When Fannti pressed him for what his intentions were should he win the Trial, Lord Luthien held steadfast to his previous wishes stating that he would see the drow leave the island, but softened his stance stating he would provide his elven ships to see them delivered to wherever it is they requested. When it came to his dying wish he humored Zhorn’s suggestion of bestowing the leadership of his people to Zhorn.
