26 Meloragift 4520: Things Left Behind

In the morning we speak with Iago and inform him of the regime change in Belhaim. We will make some introductions to Lord Moulten and Alden Dewfoot when we are back there. We speak to Afbert about our horses before Lukas come in and we have a brief chat about our coming plans. He will stay in Oxenhalt for a bit and work with Essa. The town is starting to empty out a bit as people start to go back to their farms and houses. Essa is milling about the square this morning as well.

 

We meet up with Afbert and arrange to procure a horse and cart combo. Our new horse is called Ginger. He will bring the horse and cart to us at the tavern in about an hour or so. We purchase some extra clothing for the three young Belhaim kids and I purchase a silver clasp for a cloak that reminds me of Corellon. We head over to Elanil & Kuskyn's store to say goodbye. We sit and have tea with them and discuss the previous days events. I ask Elanil if she can embroider the design of my amulet on my boots. She can and we can pick these up later as well. After a bit more of a chat and a lime cake or two, we head back to the tavern.

 

Essa turns up and says she has found a ritual/blessing to Corellon that she can perform for me. I grab Dharra and we head over to the temple. Essa leads us downstairs to a chamber to perform the ritual. There is a long pool of water that will aid in this. During the ritual, she removes my armour and cleanses me with water - like I am being baptised. I feel the presence of Corellon as a hand on my face, a kiss on my forehead and a whisper in my ear speaking in elven...

After the ritual, Essa gives me a hug and then hands me a book - a sort of primer on Corellon. We get back to the Tavern, gather all our gear and then head on the road to Belhaim again.

 

As we make our way toward the forest, I hear a yell. A man is running toward us - as if his life depends on it. We turn our mounts and ride toward him to investigate what he is running from. After some quick investigation we enter into a fight with some evil things that keep appearing and disappearing of the battlefield. After dispatching them we investigate the farmhouse a bit more. There is an egg shaped thing that has burst open and a bunch of the K sigil has been scrawled on the walls and floor. The pod was summoned and the sigils also have some blood smeared in them. We grab our horses and head back to the town and to the temple to tell Essa and Lukas of what we have seen. They will investigate the other farms in the area and we head back out onto the road to Belhaim yet again.

 

After some riding we find a suitable space to set up camp for the evening as the sun starts to set. We find a strange marking on a doorway in a rockface. The pattern is an incomplete circle with a dot at the top. (which we think signifies all the gods). The pattern also contains five hand indentations with palms facing inwards. We try to get it open but fail so we turn in for the night, but we mark this spot on our rough map of the area.
