On return to The Lively Grotto Dharra Boulderfoot and Arkomir Phinan are accompanied by Katya Shadowash and find that some of the contingent of Dwarves they encountered near the temple of Kord and again at Moradin's Beard are in attendance. They are lead by a dwarf called Thicoul Stromwalker. He asks Dharra if she will kindly play for them.

At the end of Dharra's performance they have a discussion and Thicoul uses his large stone hammer to cast a spell. He questions them on their loyalties and intents. At the conclusion of the discussion he asks Dharra to attend a ball to be held the next night in the Elector's Palace in celebration of his arrival in the city. He asks that she perform in the stead of a Bard they lost on the road here, and gives her a songbook of his. He hopes this will help set the right impression of his embassy to Confluence.

Thicoul says he will arrange a line of credit at a store called Grit's Finest Tailoring, but they will have only tomorrow to prepare something for Dharra to wear.
