Relationships

Surtr is the brother of Elys, Eventa, Uranus, and Ymir. Surtr has a tenuous alliance with Zolena as her drive to bring about the end conflicts with his prophesy to bring about Ragnarok.

Surtr is generally disliked among the gods for his drive to end the multiverse and restart the cycle.

Appearance

Surtr appears as a fire giant with dark red skin and eyes and hair like fire. He wears darksteel full plate over a crimson tunic and black trousers.

Church of Surtr

Most of Surtr’s worshipers are northron clansmen, fire giants, and orcs who do not wish to serve Gruumsh and his tribe. Evil lycanthropes also tend to find favor with Surtr as he is a god of strength and destruction.

Clergy

Surtr’s clergy are few and reclusive as they seek to free him from Muspelheim so he may start Ragnarok. His clergy is mostly comprised of druids and clerics, though there are a good number of champions and a handful of monks among their number. His priests typically wear ashen robes trimmed in crimson and adorned with fiery insignias.

Temples and Shrines

Surtr’s temples are very few and built on remote mountains, leaving them far from the beaten path. His temples are filled with large bonfires and are so illuminated, they act almost as beacons on their mountains.

The Firelord Heresy believes that fire, while destructive, leads to new life and creation. Fire is a tool with which something can be reshaped, like iron ore can be melted and cast into a sword or a plow, or a forest that burns down can regrow in the fertile ashen soil. However, they understand that fire must still be controlled, or it can destroy everything.

Followers of the Firelord Heresy do not wish to bring about Ragnarok except as the utmost last resort to stop Zolena from destroying all of creation. Because of this, they are generally more accepted than the rest of Surtr’s followers. The rest of Surtr’s church simply see them as misguided and try to convince them to come back to the main church rather than kill them.
