House Apolostolos
House Apolostolos is the most obvious embodiment of the suffering that Alsona's nobility experienced in the course of the Wingo War. Prior to that destructive conflict, the Apolostolos were one of the wealthiest and most respected families in the entire kingdom. The burning of Xiros and enemy raids throughout The Patridaxos led to the failure of most of their economic and political interests. The levies they once had were annihilated during the early stages of the war, and most of the family was wiped out in the fighting, leaving only a handful of more distant relations to take up the slack. With their estates gone, and their only assets the land they still owned, the house has struggled to maintain even a slight pretense of the position they once possessed and have been fighting to rebuild what they lost.
Public Agenda
The leaders of the house would seem to be ideal candidates to support House Barlas and their anti-royalist agenda, but surprisingly that is not the case. The leaders of the Apolostolos have done their best to position themselves as neutral in the fighting between centralization and decentralization of the state. They have managed to receive economic support and stipends from the Royal Family and have been relieved to not have to pay for expensive levies when so much more needs to be done to rebuild. The house advocates highly for continued peace, and more spending in the interior to help rebuild the infrastructure destroyed in the war.
Assets
Nearly everything owned by House Apolostolos was destroyed in the Wingo War: military levies, estates, and farms. Even their fisheries were razed by dwarven saboteurs. Most of the family's leadership were slain, leaving behind only a handful of male descendents, which has proven difficult for the family in the heart of the Alsonan matriarchy. Since the fighting stopped, they have done their best to rebuild, primarily in the town of Xiros, where they have a rebuilt fishery and rent numerous lands to tenant farmers. The funds gathered from this go predominantly to a handful of bodyguards and the purchasing of luxuries to help present an aristocratic lifestyle.
