Ke'kaci

The Ke'kaci goblins are those who have remained the most true to the old ways of their people. While the goblins of Populres have adopted a form of civilization all of their own, and the Ke'zani have found new gods and hobbies, the Ke'kaci have retained much of their old spirit and vigor. Having originally joined the Sypi Confederacy out of necessity, the Ke'kaci have done their best to integrate with the other tribes, but they are best known for their free spirits and lack of concern about consequences. To the other tribes of the Confederacy, the Ke'kaci are barely civilized and only have the thinnest of veneers of decorum by Confederate standards. They persistently raid their neighbors, as well as often striking into Bamard and Forard.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The Ke'kaci speak Goblinspeak above all other languages, and only have reluctantly begun to integrate Common into their daily lifestyle. For the most part, the Ke'kaci version of Goblinspeak is the purest form of that language, as other groups of goblins have since adulterated it with loan words from other tongues.

Art & Architecture

The Ke'kaci are a nomadic tribe within the Sypi Confederacy and therefore lack any distinctive architecture of their own, rarely building any permanent settlements. Their tents are probably some of the most primitive and disgusting that can be found within the Confederacy, built of a myriad of types of cloth and leather. It is not uncommon for dozens of goblins to die every winter from the harsh cold due to insufficient heating from their tents. Goblin artwork is similarly primitive, and consists mainly of strange totems that the Ke'kaci leave behind everywhere they camp for the winter. The other Confederate tribes have a number of superstitions about these totems, claiming that they are cursed, but the more educated believe that this could be exactly what the Ke'kaci are hoping for, as an elaborate prank upon their neighbors.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

The differences between male and female goblins barely registers to the Ke'kaci. The short time frame for births and rapid rate of breeding often leads to a bit of a disregard for the safety of all involved. Males and females alike are involved in all elements of Ke'kaci society, pulling pranks on each other and participating equally in raids and battles. It is generally expected that female Ke'kaci goblins are more likely to live longer than their male counterparts, and the majority of tribal elders are female, simply because they tend to avoid taking as many risks on the battlefield.

Relationship Ideals

The Ke'kaci persistently seek out others, rarely as friends, but possibly as targets for elaborate pranks. A typical Ke'kaci finds a few close friends within their tribe usually at an extremely young age and remain with them until death. These close knit friendships are usually brought to an end with at least one death in battle, at which point the surviving friends usually enter into a berserker rage and seek out vengeance. Close friendships are treasured more than any other form of relationship among the Ke'kaci.
