Eilistraee, Lady Silverhair

One of the twin gods born to Corellon and Araushnee (now Lolth), Eilistraee is the only Good god of the Drow. Once tainted and beguiled by her mother, the Dark Maiden nearly succeeded in assassinating her father. Sehanine Moonbow and other gods managed to save the regent of Elven gods and exposed Lolth’s betrayal. Eilistraee repented her actions against the surface Elves, but still felt abandoned by her father and the other Elven gods. She devoted herself to reforming the Drow from her mother’s evil teachings. She attempted to bring them away from the corrupting influence of the Underdark and bring them back into the light of the surface. She also gained some followers amongst the surface Elves and other species as a goddess of the lost and exiled. While not considered a threat by Lolth, Eilistraee endured constant attacks from her twin brother Vhaeraun, who resented her for receiving the honor of assassinating their father, and her subsequent failure. While an advocate for peace, Eilistraee was an expert swordsman and encouraged her petitioners to hone their martial skills. Like other Good-aligned Elven gods, she professed balance and respect for nature, even its ugly aspects. Eilistraee is often depicted as a tall, obsidian-skinned Elf with silver hair, clad in a gown glowing with the light of the moon. Like her father, she had a keen interest in music, especially harpsong, and dance. Her followers are often skilled in healing arts, and their hidden temples serve as clinics and places for exiles to rest. Followers of Eilistraee are often reclusive, as they face persecution from other Elves, but also must protect themselves from attacks from followers of Lolth, Vhaeraun, and even Shevarash.
