Abyss

The Infinite Depths of the Abyss (or just the Abyss, if you are feeling less grandiose) may be both the most romanticized and speculated Realm in the whole of the Spirit World. It is characterized by its blending of destruction and malignance coupled with its wild and untamable nature. The Abyss is often considered one of the most dangerous places in the Mindscape (a point that could be argued).
The least alien and most hospitable Domain of the Abyss, if such a term can be applied anywhere in the Realm, is the rim.
A massive, gaping hole in the spirit world, alien and anguished shrieks erupt from it with the cacophonous, fetid winds that pour out endlessly. Around this hole (the Abyss proper) is a rim of less chaotic nature, the Domain of a Demon Lord that slows the expansion of the chasm into the greater area of the Spirit World.
