History of the continent of Erellion
Dwarf history can be traced back approximately this far in the history of Erellion.
Danar Rotansin succumbs to the corruption of the Banes and is reborn as Eslathagos Malkith.
The earth itself reacted to the evil contained within the castle known as Mosul Pearl and thrust the castle 3000 feet into the air forming a great spire.
Eslathagos Malkith attacks the civilized lands, raining destruction down upon the world and all its inhabitants. Only runebearer heroes, blessed by the gods’ divine power, are able to stop him and his armies.
An outbreak of the dead rising from graves occurs across Erellion.
Frost giants came on boats across the narrow western North Sea and invaded the civilizations on the north shore.
Eruption of the volcano known as the Infernal Summit.
Stonelost Dwarves settle the area near the spire and build the city known as Dwarvenhearth.
Humans settle in Theridae, founding the Kingdom of Tirine. They establish friendly relations with the dwarves of Dwarvenhearth.
Ghul the Half God, the Skull-King who claims to be the resurrected son of Eslathagos Malkith, slays the last of the cthorn.
Ghul begins creation of his fortress Goth Gulgamel in the spire. The dwarfs seal the surface entrances to Dwarvenhearth.
Ghul begins an invasion to conquer the surrounding lands that history has termed the Ghulwar. His forces include orcs, dark elves, tribes of evil men and dwarves, and monsters.
Tirine falls to Ghul. Ghul slays King Rissathion upon the King’s Stone.
Ghul had so mastered the power of the Entropy Sphere that he drew the Utterdark out into the normal, physical world. This darkness covered the lands that he had conquered.
The Cold Quiet begins, few pass into or out of the Utterdark.
The Cold Quiet ends as he armies of Ghul issue forth from the Utterdark, composed of orcs, ogres, trolls, and worse.
The Elder Elves, now allied with the Stonelost Dwarves (dwarves descended from those that fled Dwarvenhearth) drive back Ghul’s armies.
The elf wizard Khelaeson banishes the Utterdark.
Ghul calls forth his Squirming Horde, also known as the Shrieking Horde, and defeats the elves and dwarves. The Horde follows the elves back to their homeland of Elessean and razes it.
The rending occurred during the war against Ghul when various factions of like minded elves betrayed their people in support of Ghul because they did not agree with the Brightfather's Pact.
Ghul falls to the combinded allies, thus ending the Ghulwar.
The armies laid seige to Goth Golgamel. A group of heroes known today as the Great Seven pursued Ghul who, upon seeing that his defeat was imminent, fled into the Jewels of Parnaith.
The city of Wayhill is founded.
Enchara runs rampant over the area between The City of Wayhill and The Restless Rise Mountains and causes the population to vacate the area.
The ghost-lich Kagrisos rises from beneath the streets of Denwick in an attempt to cast a spell that will spread a plague throughout the city. Before he can complete this act the great hero Abesh Runihan strikes him down. Abesh dies in the process.
Raiders from strange lands invade the eastern coast of Erellion leaving villages of mindless folk in their wake.
The Sisterhood of Silence becomes officially sanctioned by the Republic to enforce laws and deal with criminals.
The Gnoll War rages in the south. General Igor Urnst leads the troops of the Republic to victory there.
Sheva Callister a famous Delver uncovers the Crown of Ki-Las, an artifact of the long forgotten Charad Titans, below the city. She retires after she sells it.
The town of Lumberfell was attacked by strange monsters, previously unknown to the residents of the village. These humanoid monsters are bi-pedal but have animal features including their faces, feet and skin. They resemble various animals, including pigs, goats, boar and bear. They attacked at dusk, raiding the village and taking prisoners. Several people are missing. The deceased include: Asina Silvers , Jamah Sneden , Father Rantal Prasst , Jimes Iggins , Hellena Sekhlev Several buildings burned, some completely, some partially.
