Halfling {Erethes}

One of the original races, Halflings struggle to find their place in a world that refuses to accommodate for them. Halflings are a race of very human-like people, The only real differences are proportional and height differences. Averaging at 3 feet, Halflings had to spread out and build their own cities and towns to accommodate for this, this also makes almost all Halfling cities almost impossible to navigate for taller races. Unfortunately, Most halflings are either mistaken for children or as untrustworthy, Having a reputation for thievery. As a result, There are almost no Halflings in any actual political position in Erethes. There are three different types of Halfling in Erethes, Lightfoot, Stout and Abyssal, With the latter having it's own article, I will only talk about the first two. Lightfoot halflings are very stealthy naturally and are the reason that Halflings have their reputation for being thieves, These are the most common type in Erethes. Stout Halflings are much hardier, almost akin to a dwarf. These are often the Halflings that become warriors, mercenaries or hard workers. These halflings are often found closer to the north.

Halfling society works almost identical to most humanoids, Except they adopt a more communist way of thinking.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Halflings can be found practically anywhere in Erethes, But they'll often be found in regions with lots of grassland or forests, Such as Athrae for example.

Naming Traditions

Halfling names often take from whatever region they're from, While adding halfling sounding last names in addition to their other name. (Ex. Seeing a halfling named Tadahiro Brightbarrel, Aya Springtopple, Flavius Freeseeker or Agamedes Truewillow.)
