Kingdom of Alexandros

Generations ago, Alexander II Veor, leader of the Stormgardian Rebels, left Valennia and set sail west across the Attlecier Ocean in hopes of finding a new homeland for his people. Fueled by tales of a land of plenty, Alexander set out for the continent of Eldamir. Thrown off course by a terrible tempest, the Stormgardian sailors made landfall on an island chain that they would come to call Alexandros. Here, Alexander would establish his kingdom and build a city that is still viewed as the pinnacle of civilization--Alexandria. Quickly, the Stormgard King developed an eye for the mainland, wishing to expand his kingdom into an empire. It was not long after their arrival to Alexandros that Alexander initiated the Stormgardian Wars of Conquest. Over time, Alexander came to annex a large portion of mainland into his empire, continuing to build new cities and larger armies. However, as the years passed by and Alexander became but a distant ancestor to the men and women who sat upon the Strithmerki Throne in Stormcrown, the empire turned its attention away from Alexandros, allowing for the island territory to stage a rebellion and win its independence. Currently, the Kingdom of Alexandria is one of the most prosperous nations in all of Esos. The throne is exceedingly well-managed by the progeny of House Caelyeyn. The kingdom's control of the vast majority of the world's amonite industry continues to propel its economy forward. The kingdom maintains strong diplomatic relationships with the Triarchy and the Misty Enclave. In addition, Alexandros is one of the few nations of the planet to trade openly with the Southern Lords of Saayanda. Since its independence, Alexandros and the Stormgard Empire have maintained an uneasy ceasefire. Attempts to sign an official peace treaty have stalled on multiple occasions. In recent years, reports have circulated attesting to a military buildup deep within the lands of the Stormgard Empire, with their eyes set on the reacquisition of the island kingdom. However, many claim these rumors to be simply that, as the empire has made few, if any, true aggressive maneuvers directed towards the Kingdom of Alexandros.
