Sirkaar Desert

The Sirkaar Desert is the hottest region of Weströnd. Occasionally referred to as the Red Dunes, the area is rocky, mountainous, arid and dry, and features the only true sand desert on the continent. The territory is currently controlled by the Kingdom of Sirkaar. Prior to the World Shatter, many myths existed concerning the desert; some groups said the Red Dunes marked the edge of the world, while others believed those who successfully traveled across the desert sands had reached the home of the gods. Now, the desert and its surrounding mountain chain allow the Kingdom of Sirkaar to remain rather isolated from the Stormgård Empire and maintain a level of neutrality in most geopolitical matters.
