The Memorial Garden
This is the Tavern where people come to drink in honour their dead friends and family.
Behind the Tavern is a garden where plaques made from remnants of the Funeral Boats are laid.
This tradition is centuries old and very important to the people of Tor Alyn.
History
From the early days of Tor Alyn, the populace have buried their dead at sea, rather than in the ground.
The Memorial Garden has always been the Tavern close to where the Funeral Boats are launched and the ceremonies are held.
The people of Tor Alyn honour their dead by drinking in their name and regaling each other with colourful stories of the times spent together.
Tourism
Whilst not a "hot spot" of tourism, it has been known that some outsiders visit The Memorial Garden to pay respects whilst also experiencing a different culture.
If you do visit, be sure you enjoy at least one drink - to leave without drinking is seen as disrespectul.
