History

Less than 100 years ago a group of carpenters and the lumberjack friends decided to leave the town's and cities of their upbringing and try to make it on their own, travelling for days towards the south (knowing that's where the elves were who sold them wood) they came upon a group of hills, these were by no means the largest of hills but by climbing to the top of the biggest one in the centre they could see the world around them stretching for miles.
This is where they decided to settle, noting there was a dense wood to the west less than a days travel away. Unhitching their wagons and finally getting some much deserved rest they set about making camp.   Years went by and the camp grew, the lumberjacks and carpenters putting their craft to good use making houses, fixing wagons, and eventually starting trade with the biggest cities and towns around them, having such a plentiful supply of good wood so close meant they always managed to sell what they had at a premium.   About 50 years ago a woodsman went too far into the forest and lost sight of his crewmates. His body was found torn to shreds only a few hours later, the search party heard a low growl rising up into a great howl as they ran screaming from the woods not wanting to suffer the same fate as their friend. As such from that day forward the wood would forever be known as the Howling wood.   A few more years went by, and the small village was now doing very well for itself, the grassy hills around the village made for ample grazing for the sheep and cows that provided the milk, wool and meat for the village, the trees provided by the howling wood continued to give good quality wood for use and sale and the village is doing well, the new Inn (the lumberjack) is open for business and the village rejoices, the nightly routine of sitting in the inn and having an ale has begun.
