Through the elemental planes came Ji. A perfect balance in Exitium and elements.
When wicked beasts and Godly Titans ruled over the lands of Ji. Not much is known about this time.
Not much is known about this civilization. They are known by historians only through minuscule archeological digs and writings.
The War Between the Titans and Dragons was a grueling and hard-fought war. Eventually, the Dragons came out on top, with the help of the Ancient Elves.
Controllable magic is introduced to the world, bringing about the dawn of recorded civilization. This Age is home to the Great Wizards and Scholars.
In return for helping the Dragon's with their war, the people of Ezrion received the gift of controllable magic. This leads to an age where cities can float, the economy booms, and Ezrion is really put on the map.
The separatism found in Ezrion after the start of the Age of Masters deeply upset William Koth, an Elf born in the large town of Ashguard. Dissatisfied with the way things were going, he unified half of Ezrion and started the Red War. Ultimately, he took out his enemies, including the elves of Wofania and the Orcs of Bazhad.
Mordenkeinen is born. An elf in the Empire of Koth who learned the mysterious ways of magic and extraplanar travel.
Mordenkainen, one of the Great Sages of the Age of Masters forms the Circle of 8, a group of 8 individuals with incredible magical prowess. They go on to found the College of Apokrifos (Greek for "Arcane"), which teaches thousands of great wizards their abilities and is still a major national institution in Ezrion today.
When the Circle of Eight killed Vecna, he threw off the other Planes of Existence, making the Gods come down to Ji.
The Prime Deities called Ji home for a while, guarding the people and shepherding the weak.
Once the Gods fell to Earth, the mortal beings across Ji flew into warfare, believing some Divine Smite was being called upon them. The Circle of Eight commanded this war. With Mordenkainan falling in his battle with Vecna, the Circle of Eight was faltering to control the peace. The Circle was ultimately destroyed by the Gods but managed to bring down some lesser Deities and Demigods. The Empire of Koth was no more.
The Empire of Koth let their magocracy run them. With puppet emperor after puppet emperor, the Circle of Eight eventually took control themselves and ran the Empire of Koth and themselves into the ground. During the Battle for Niselguard, the last bastion in the Empire that had not put their white flag up, fell, and the Empire of Koth was no more.
After the Gods disbanded the Empire of Koth, an age of peace set in. The good Gods took care of the denizens of Ezrion, and the evil Gods were too far away from a source of Exitium that they were little more than powerless. Cities governed their people well (for the most part) and nobody starved. Great art and innovation came from this period. The construction of great statues, temples, and buildings (some of which still exist today) was also made in this period.
Molmir is a decent God. Boy does he hold a grudge, though. The city of Loa was an ancient Elven civilization that had been booming for thousands of years. When they went to war with the Dwarves of the Windy Isle, Molmir did not hesitate to share his wrath.
The God's disappeared, and soon, Ji was a staging ground of Elemental War. Demons and Devils fought it out on the material plane, with no console for the people who lived there. Aarakocra battled Pheonix's in the air, and once dead Titans fell down on the Material Plane, alive with a new ferocity.
All that is known about this era is that beasts from all over the Cosmos flooded onto the Material Plane of Ji and that magic stopped working. Floating cities plummeted to the ground, wizards became of no use to the nobles, and the continent's economy collapsed. It is estimated that anywhere between 50-75% of Ezrion's population was killed during the Dark Ages.
The once thought defeated Vecna was temporarily calling the God's layer of heaven home. Vecna was the one person standing between Lord Karsus and Godhood. Lord Karsus killed a Tarrasque, a hydra, and a Gold Dragon just to create a spell that would render him a Demigod. Karsus killed Vecna in God's layer of Heaven and completed his ascension. Karsus is the God of Magic, or, more commonly known as The Allhammer.
The Ilithids came out of the Underdark and the Far Realms to capitalize on the Elemental Chaos. The people of Ezrion had no magic to protect them and were incredibly vulnerable. Their once dependant magic system had vanished, leaving cities unprotected and governments corruptable. The Ilithids took over and used the people of Ezrion as a massive slave system. In myth, the Ilithid society was rumored to have gone to other planets and enslaved their people, as well.
An unbecoming Orc woman by the name of Krusk starts the Gladiator's Revolution in secret in the Underdark. The main goal of the revolution is to stop the Ilithids and return the world back to what it was.
Many great heroes got their start at this age. Stopping the Elemental Chaos and sending the foes back to their home planes.
Karsus starts the Weave again. Using this newfound magic, the Gladiator's Revolution made the Seal of the Warrior locks in most of the Elemental Chaos. This Seal opened up a rift in the sky. A crack down the middle of Ji and the majority of the non-natives were sucked into the rift. Majority.
After setting up refuge in the Underdark, the people of Ezrion allied themselves with the Drow and the Svirfneblin of the Underdark to fight against the Ilithid. The Ilithid Empire is no more.
The Ilithid Empire shatters, and out of it comes the pieces of Ezrion, still broken. Recorded down are 192 separate countries that claimed their independence, but only 5 of them have any real significance. The Ashguards, the Theosivans, the Gennaios, the Skotadi, and the Bazhad's.
Through the rise of The Age of Heroes came another wave of technological advances. The High Elves of Ashguard took the pieces of Ezrion and made them whole.
Ashguard had been gaining severe political, citizen, and military power over the last hundred years. Once a small town, now a great city stood. The High Elves of Ashguard conquered the other countries fighting for independence and imposed the Treaty of Ashes which stated that Queen Iphis of Ashguard, First of Her Name, Spreader of Ashes, was the new Queen. All those citizens who did not show fealty to here were not tortured or killed. Rather, Queen Iphis created Ezrion's first Freedom of Speech.
Ishtün had once been a bastion of the magical arts. The College of Galdur, which still stands today, was the head of state in Ishtün. It was a beautiful city fixed in the north of current-day Izael. When the Orcs, Dragonborn, and High Elves started to migrate to the Ruins of Ishtün during the Famine of Qarth, the Dark Elves that once populated this vast city began to fall out of popularity.
The future King of Wofania, General Kymil Daxina worked together with the peoples of the region of Wofania to march on Ashguard, resulting in the Demented King's death.
The Last King, Thorne Zul, The Demented King, was killed by Nienda, Lord of the Black, an Ancient Black Dragon, and The Demented King's close ally and pet. The Empire of Ashguard was no more.
The unified Ashguard Empire crumbles, leaving Ezrion to stumble. Each country must fight for its rightful place.
The Last King, Thorne Zul, The Demented King, was killed by Nienda, Lord of the Black, an Ancient Black Dragon, and The Demented King's close ally and pet. The Empire of Ashguard was no more.
The 6 countries of Ezrion and the Windy Isles met 5 miles outside of Deiland and contracted the Treaty of the Dei, which would allow each of the countries to keep doing their cultural and political beliefs separately, but have a representative of each country work together with the other countries to ensure mutual benefit and continent-wide laws, such as a single currency, a Common Language, and road pavements.
