Gundren Rockseeker
Gundren was one of three brothers who were in search of the missing Wave Echo Cave.
He was a strong squat dwarf with many years of mining wisdom. He had discovered the location of the lost magical mine and returned to Neverwinter for equipment and telling his close friend Sildar Hallwinter. Upon his return journey Nezznar AKA the Black spider ambushed him and took him prisoner, in order to learn the location of Wave Echo Cave.
The Phandalin District and Shipping company tried to save him with the help of his brothers Nundro Rockseeker and Tharden Rockseeker. However it took too long to discover the location of the magical mine and Nezznar killed Gundren when he had successfully found the forge within the mine.
