Chapter 39: Airship Extravaganza

General Summary

Date: 7th of Marpenoth to 11th of Marpenoth, 1491 DR

As the flying ship slowly drifts towards north, the heroes begin to work. Nomime traveled under the deck and searched the rooms for anything noteworthy while Ranvas apprehended the Red Wizards possessions. Meanwhile Belros navigated the ship. They eventually decided to wake up the Red Wizard and question him. The conversation begin poorly as Dralas wasn't keen on sharing any information with his captors. 
So began their voyage through the skies of the Savage Frontier. The adventurers decided to head to the city of Everlund to restock on items and learn more information before embarking towards the Forge of the Fire Giants that lied somewhere within the Silver Marches. Nomime had managed to find rations as well as a dragonchess set, which she used to play against Ranvas. Belros tapped into his mysterious powers and enchanted his blade with the Ise-rune. The journey was going smoothly and peacefully. At first...
The second day of their travel was met by high winds and heavy clouds. As they tried to navigate through they realized they were not alone. A shadow passed through the thick clouds and the heroes prepared for a fight.
A massive red dragon had been on the hunt for food and had noticed the airship. It dashed through the clouds, ready to fry the passengers with its flame breath. Ranvas, who was manning the harpoon gun shot a deadly harpoon that embedded itself onto the dragon. The wyrm thrashed and pulled it out, readying for an attack. Nomime distracted the dragon with her psychic spell long enough for Ranvas to shoot another harpoon into the dragon. 
The dragon got free and exhaled fire towards the crew. Fortunately Belros was the only one within range, and he managed to block most of it with his shield. The airship balloon however was heavily damaged and another attack would mean that the ship would plummet hundreds of feet down to the ground. Ranvas, still Hasted by Nomime, and helped by Bene shot another harpoon and pulled the dragon onto the deck. The dragon realized its prey was far deadlier than anticipated and thus dashed away, disappearing into the clouds.
With their ship heavily damaged, the heroes finally landed to the gates of Everlund. They met with the Harpers and handed over the Red Wizard. The Harpers promised to repair the ship from its damage, but it would take a few days. This meant the Good Fellas had some time to restock their items and learn rumors until the ship was fixed for them.
Belros managed to cure the curse Ranvas had procured during his slaughtering of the sacret Elk. The heroes traded and bought numerous items, such as potions and poisons. They heard a rumor that Felgolos was currently imprisoned by the Count Giant Regent and that the Dawn Titan Maegera had been captured from the Great Forge.
These problems would have to wait however, for their path was currently set to the Silver Marches. So after the few days of downtime, the ship was repaired and the heroes embarked on their journey, their destination set towards northeast of Everlund. As the ship soars through the skies, the heroes might have an easier time to locate the fortress of the Fire Giant. Will they manage to find the Forge and locate the Conch of Teleportation? That remains to be seen...
