Chance
Chance is not aware of where their sorcerous powers came from - just that they manifested during the second sundering.
A consumate gambler and swindler, Chance was born in the countryside near Waterdeep, in a small town called Greenfast. They were separated from their parents during Spellplague and Second Sundering. As a result, they had to go it on their own since about the age of 10-12.
Eventually, Chance ended up as a refugee in some major city in Sembia and
made their way to the Dalelands while following the Sembian army (the soldiers were easy marks) and settled in Scardale Town in the seedier underside that developed during the occupation.
Recently, since the battles near the barrier that surrounds the ruined Myth Drannor, Chance's magic has a shadowy undercurrent to it. Shortly after this began, Chance had a dream about a giant set of shadowy eyes watching him from the heavens. Though they tried with all their abilities to hide and disguise themselves to avoid detection by those strange eyes, they eventually used their magic to try and hide but found the spell came out with shadowy undercurrents. At that point the eyes above went wide and a voice whispered in Chance's mind, "Ah, THERE you are my child..."

Chance won Katrina Runesong in a game of cards and then set her free. They parted ways shortly thereafter, but they reunited unexpectedly on Tymora's Luck the day it sank.
