Duchy of Arradon (R-ah-don)
The Duchy of Arradon is a well-established and prosperous nation, having been founded nearly 800 years ago during the Second Age. Located in the central region of Drassau on the continent Avinik , as of 3A. 721 Arradon is ruled by Duke Ellithwen Whitewood, with the ancient silver dragon Aradasaryx serving as the Guardian of Winterfar, the capital city of Arradon.
Arradon's population is largely made up of humans and halflings, with a significant minority of dwarves and smaller populations of elves and other races. The Verdant Peaks, a mountain range that forms a natural barrier around the western side of the The Mirskwood Forest, dominate the northern territory of Arradon and are rich in iron ore, which has contributed greatly to the nation's rise to power.
Other major geographical features of Arradon include Loch Morag, a large lake, Selune's Grove, a large forest, and the Redwaters and Elfsong rivers. The Redwaters, which has a high iron concentration and mostly clay soil, starts in the Verdant Peaks and runs through the length of a majority of Arradon. The Elfsong originates in the Mirskwood Forest and marks the northeastern border of Arradon.
Arradon's attempts at expansion to the west have been hampered by the barbarian tribes that roam the grasslands known as the Malice Lands. To the south lies the Duchy of Rhydean, which has a strained relationship with Arradon due to Rhydean's hosting of the fiercely anti-dragon organization called the Order of the Mortal Flame. To the east lies the neutral nation of the Duchy of Llynmere.
Overall, the Duchy of Arradon appears to be a well-established and prosperous nation with significant natural resources and strategic geographical advantages. Its strained relationship with Rhydean and the Order of the Mortal Flame may pose future challenges for the nation, however.
