ToD: Session 74: The battle on the gate of the Kraken
General Summary
As the battle waged on at the Kraken Gate the party suffered damage by the recently transformed Asterion who was grappling party members and throwing them at each other. And more and more tentacles slipped trough the portal and sea creatures started to attack the party including Nereid and Megalodons. The party managed to defeat all but one Kraken Priest who hid himself in a inky cloud in the center of the portal. And Asterion was knocked out of his Kraken form and started attaking Sidon but missed all of his attacks. He was then stabbed to death by Sidon and was placed on the edge of the gate. Ray was kissed by one of the Nereid and was silenced by acid poured down her throat and Sun paralyzed the Megalodon. In the end it came down to 6 seconds to kill the last Kraken Priest otherwise the King of the Trackless Sea would arrive and anihalate the party. But with a fireball from Leo which broke the Kraken his concentration Sidon swam trough to him and dealt the final blow. The portal then started to collapse and break, the Megalodon and Nereid were both sucked in and the Kraken said that he would take his revenge.
After all that happened the party heard 3 blows of a horn. This meant that a side had surrendered. The party began swimming back to Ahlors and saw that the battle was indeed over. They saw two krakens dead on the central two towers and in the distance Thunderhide resting. 3 Storm Giants then came to the party and when they recognized them they led them to the war leaders: Marisen, Theodorus and Harrdiir. Marisen introduced herself and said that she was a spy in the forces of Asterion and the one to blow the horn. She first said that she initially had no trust in the group but that she was pleasantly surprised. She said that the prisoners where currently being brought back from the prisons including Tune and Sidon his mother Belthyn. She also when asked promised to ready the troups to fight the battle against Tiamat.
The part rested in the meantime and when they saw prisoners coming out of the Trench of Lopok Ray immediatly started to look for Tune and found him and swam as hard as she could. She then hugged him and saw that he was severely hurt. He said that he needed to lay down and sleep and went to his bed in his home. Sidon than met his mother again and they talked for a while while and then going back to home and sending Ray back to the party to go back to the surface world.
The party then left Ahlors and Serôs and went to Waterdeep. They arrived in the Firefly Mansion and saw multiple windows abrred up and broken and that the door was partially damaged. They then saw Darcy looking flustered as the party arrived. He told them that Leosin was wanting to talk with them as soon as possible, and he welcomed the Tabaxi twins. Ray gave Hermin the Hermit Crab and asked if he could make him a home.
The party then went to the Palace of Waterdeep to talk with Leosin. When they arrived they saw Leosin talking with Onthar Frume and they introduced themselves to Ray and Sun. Onthar left and Leosin informed them about the guest they have received recently, a Red Wizard of Thay named Nyh Ilmich. She was send as an emissary to invite the council to a Alliance meeting in Thay. Leosin said that it would be a smart choice and that her intentions are true, she was asked under the effect of Zone of Truth.
