The Island Republics

Structure

The governance system in the Island Republics reflects a commitment to participatory democracy. Representatives from each of the six regions are elected to convene in a central assembly, where decisions are made collectively through deliberation and consensus-building.

Culture

In the Island Republics, the maritime environment heavily influences daily life. Fishing, trading, and seafaring are integral aspects of the culture, shaping not only the economy but also the collective identity of the populace. From the traditional fishing villages dotting the coastlines to the bustling port cities, the connection to the sea permeates various facets of society. Art and music flourish in the Island Republics, serving as expressions of the collective identity and cultural heritage. Traditional folk songs, dance performances, and artisan crafts reflect the unique history and experiences of the people, providing avenues for cultural preservation and creativity.

Public Agenda

Government policies prioritize the expansion of maritime routes, the establishment of trade agreements with Alterran nations, and the development of strategic partnerships to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Efforts are directed towards leveraging the nation's maritime prowess to stimulate economic growth, enhance international competitiveness, and secure valuable resources from Alterra. Public discourse emphasizes the importance of fostering a dynamic and innovative economy, while also acknowledging the need for responsible stewardship of natural resources.

Assets

The Island Republics have one of the largest collective populations in Prythwyn, as well as one of the largest navies. Their ground forces are substantially lacking, but it is near impossible to land troops on their shores.

Demography and Population

Due to their federated government and vast amount of land, there is no majority species. The only species without an equal populous are changelings. Meanwhile harengon, firbolg, tortles, dragonborn, lizardfolk, triton, genasi, thri-keen, and aarakocra live there in great abundance.

Foreign Relations

The Island Republics relations with the Cyraneed and Serenithian Empires is foul to say the least. Nevertheless, they remain great allies with Valleyhome and Autumnia.
