Lasalle Bionational, often shortened to Bionational and commonly referred to as Bionational Corporation, is a multinational conglomerate specializing in biological research and development. The company is notable for its successful studies of the Xenomorph species XX121 and has been a major source of detailed information regarding the creature's biology.

As rivals to Weyland-Yutani's bio-weapons division, Lasalle Bionational has managed to secure its own cache of Xenomorph XX121 ovomorphs. Bionational's science and security exploration teams scour the Frontier, seeking ancient Engineer laboratories, traces of Chemical A0-3959X.91-15, and other alien lifeforms, viruses, or mutagens waiting to be discovered.

The company operates several sterile research space stations in the Outer Veil and sponsors colonies on Taurus 7 and LV-113 in the Outer Rim Territories. On the Frontier, Lasalle Bionational maintains a farming colony on Terraform 3 and operates a fleet of SEVs out of Anchorpoint Station.

History

Lasalle Bionational is a relative newcomer, formed in the wake of mass layoffs in the Weyland-Yutani bio research and development division during the late 2130s. Brendan Lasalle, a former Weyland-Yutani VP, quit over the firings, citing “creative differences” as the cause. He obtained start-up funds and assembled the laid-off personnel to create Lasalle Bionational. The company quickly secured a lucrative government contract to produce an inexpensive, radiation-resistant corn substitute and a blight virus to destroy enemy crops, establishing their market presence.

Foreign Relations

Lasalle Bionational is engaged in a bio-arms race with Weyland-Yutani to secure bioweapons contracts with the United States Colonial Marine Corps (USCMC). Both companies are frequent victims of corporate espionage and sabotage. Due to less robust protection compared to Weyland-Yutani, the Union of Progressive Peoples (UPP) has placed spies within Bionational's administration to steal their research.

Lasalle Bionational is renowned for its radiation-resistant crops, bioengineered livestock adaptable to various environments, extrasolar pathogen vaccines, and its biological research, procurement, and weapons division.
