The Aspects

The pantheon of the Aspects, also known as "the Avatars", is a religion that follows the gods and avatars of the moon, the sun, and the earth. Although the worship of these gods wary from the different races and cultures of Gaea, most who dedicate their life in one way or another to one of these Aspects, recognize and respect the others as part of the cosmos of the universe. Recognition of the Aspects is widespread, but most view them as more of a natural force in the world, rather than direct gods to pray to and to worship.
The races who have a special relationship to the Aspects are primarily the sun elves and the dwarves, who worship Sol, the Aspect of the Sun, and Gaia, the Aspect of the Earth, respectively. Before the Lunar Cataclysm, the moon elf population of the high elves worshipped Selune, the aspect of the Moon, but following the events of the Cataclysm, they are now extinct and Selune has been shattered, greatly weakening her powers and influence over the material plane.
