Hecate
Hecate is the identical twin sister of Circe, married to Ajax and current Witch-Queen of Sarissa. Betrayed by her sister when they were children in Tunis, Circe took Hecate's sight and sold her soul in a compact with the god of the Underworld for power. Accidentally freed when Circe poisoned her nephew with hellebore root, she assisted Gin & Meade in defeating Circe and - thanks to Gin's bargaining with the goddess of the Harvest - was able to remain in Gaia while her sister was taken by the Crimson Huntsman to the Red Hell to serve Hecate's sentence.
With King Philip of Sarissa and many of Circe's servants and followers having been killed, Hecate was able to assume her sister's identity as queen of Sarissa. She married Watch-Captain Ajax and they rule the city to this day, allies of Gin and Meade.
Hecate was physically identical to her sister - a beautiful blonde woman (despite being from Tunis, it is clear she is not ethnically a native of that country) with piercing blue eyes. When her sight was taken by Circe, her eyes became blind white and after her imprisonment in the Underworld she is forever marked - when the sun falls on her, she appears as a skeleton (for this reason, she is commonly robed and hooded). Out of the sun, she appears as she did before she was consigned to the Underworld - beautiful, blonde, and with milky-white eyes.
