Sarissa

The daughter of Queen Circe of Sarissa, she was abandoned to die as a child after a soothsayer said she would be responsible for the death of the son of King Philip of Sarissa and that his bloodline would end. Found by a shepherd cyclops she was raised as his daughter and was returned to Sarissa by the actions of Gin & Meade and Captain Ajax.   There, she was embroiled in intrigue and conspiracy and it was revealed she was not the daughter of King Philip, but rather than a lover of Circe (probably Julius) was her father. Drugged and taken away by his sailors (perhaps for some nefarious sacrifice related to her mother's worship of the god of the Underworld) she drowned during the defeat of Circe and Julius.   Told by Hecate that it was not over, Gin & Meade journeyed to the Five Realms of the Underworld in an attempt to rescue Sarissa. They found her in the Blue Hell, in the form of a giant figurehead chained to the souls of lost sailors she had rescued. Persuading her to return with them (and bringing the sailors with her), Sarissa became the figurehead on the flotsam-ship and the spirit of the ship itself that Nedjemet captained for Gin & Meade's adventures around the Known World.
