They are also skilled craftsmen, creating intricate jewelry and weapons from the stones and metals found in the desert.   Sand Aelfe possess a range of magical abilities that allow them to survive in the desert. They can create mirages to confuse and misdirect their enemies, control the temperature around them to regulate their own body heat, and summon sandstorms to obscure their movements.   The Sand Aelfe are fiercely protective of their culture and traditions. They have a deep respect for the desert and all its creatures, believing that every living being has a purpose and a place in the delicate balance of their environment. They are wary of outsiders, but those who show respect and understanding for their ways are welcomed into their tribes and treated with honour and hospitality.   The nomadic Dunrit Sand Aelfe partake in a spiritual journey known as The Mirage Walk. This journey is a pilgrimage across the most treacherous stretches of desert, where sandstorms and mirages are most intense. During the walk, the Sand Aelfe must rely on their ability to navigate by sensing the shifting dunes and reading the mirages. They believe that the desert’s illusions reveal hidden truths and personal revelations. At the end of the walk, the participants craft intricate glass sculptures from desert sand, representing the insights they gained on their journey. These sculptures are kept as personal totems, reminding them of their connection to the ever-changing desert.
