Background
Claudius served as a foot soldier of the Sarddasian Army for 25 years, initially joining through compulsory service as an aid to a professional standing army at the time. Later on he would sign up as levy as a foordii (Heavily armed Infantry) where he spent the rest of his 21 years in service.
He has survived numerous campaigns under the control of different Sarddasian Kings, a well-respected battle master and expert foot soldier - A rare trait as most Sarddasian levy's do not live to the full-length of their contract (Typically 20 years) by design.
With a hefty pension, land, and expertise on his belt he had retired from military service to start a family and an agrarian business. A few years into his failing agrarian business he had tried his hands in politics where he had sustained a grievous wound due to a political dissident in an assassination attempt. He would end up selling his business to house Eligius several years ago and retire from politics altogether. House Eligius would later employ him as both a house guard and personal trainer to the heirs of their family.
Claudius is now an old man, who is not as quick or as strong as he once was. His body often becomes ill and his battle wounds have affected finer dexterity to a degree. Currently, he is assigned as the personal guard and mentor for Vitus Sextus Eligius.
