The jorps1 are the most prominent of numerous different ethnic groups inhabiting the eastern Tirkþa, the northern county () of Vakúlstó, the eastern quarter (stó) of the empire of Dalra. Most of them live in and around the town of Briltíon and surrounding villages.
They were among the first people in Gætíus' World to mint coins, and are renowned for their sculptors and blacksmiths.

History

Jorps are distant relatives of the Pakrans in Laxilþía, and originally inhabited the area around Móþon Lake before migrating to Emlas due to pressure from pakran settlers at the end of bronze age.
Their kingdom prospered early on and was a rival to the Ebþúkans to the south, but an invasion by the nomadic Nalóxans from the Nómek Plain to the north left the jorps vulnerable, and afterwards they were vassals of neighbouring tribes and finally the Dalrans.

Culture

Art

Jorps are known for sculpting perfect spheres out of stone, some of which are placed at the entrances of homes and shrines to keep evil at bay, while the largest ones are placed in major temples as cult images, with different kinds of stone associated with different deities.

Religion

The main deities of the jorps are Erklú, a fertility goddess and patron deity of the jorps, Gmalteilas, protector of blacksmiths, and Húflóas, god of healing and prophecy, whose oracle is found in Briltíon and is visited each year by people from all over Dalra.
