Isikra

Dalran: Isikra /ɪːsɪːkhra/
Húlpakric: Hisíkrax /hɪːsikhraːks/

Isikra is the name used by the Dalrans for a region of the eastern lowlands of their empire of Dalra, specifically between the Zamra Mountains to the west, Nómek Plain to the north, Úrtal Sea to the east and Zúdalikí Desert to the south.
The whole region covers roughly the same area as Vakúlstó, the eastern quarter (stó) of empire, encompassing the entire counties (jú) of Balra to the west, Tirkþa to the north, Merema to the east and the northern half of Ohúlsa to the south. A number of different ethnic groups are found in Isikra, most of which settled there long before the dalrans conquered this land, most notably Húlpakrans along the coast and Ebþúkans, Jorps and Sóans further inland.
The name is of Pakric origin, derived from the name of the legendary king Hisix who ruled the Land of the Crab-Eaters east of the Úrtal Sea in pakran mythology. The hero Ehesapax is said to have fought and defeated Hisix as the king, riding on the back of a giant crab, invaded the fledgling colony of Eþúnda, after which Ehesapax fashioned a shield from the crab's shell and replaced his lost hand with one of the creature's claw.

Geography

Isikra is mostly mixed tropical- and subtropical wood- and scrublands that give way to semi-arid environment to the south and grasslands to the north, though much of the coastline and parts of the Zamra foothills have long since been converted into fields, pastures and orchards, watered by the many rivers and creeks that flow through the region, most notably Dánró and Þarikra.
Notable settlements there includes Eþúnda, Silþa, Temekral and Temkí along the Úrtal coast, and Abarúnaxa and Briltíon in the hinterlands.
