Dalra is an empire that rules much of eastern and southeastern Emlas, and is a major power both in Emlas and the world in general. It's bordered by the Nómek Plain to the north, Úrtal Sea to the east, the Isin Isthmus -which connects Emlas to Túlmikkía- to the south, Galafam Sea to the southwest, Imkala and Narannax Mountains to the west and the Akna Plain to the northwest.
It's a major rival of the empire of Resak in Laxilþía across the sea, the relationship between the two powers are strained due to a series of (failed) invasions by the Rexans several years ago.
Dalra's main capital is Kilí by the Namazús River to the east, with Sarka to the north serving as its ceremonial capital.
While the emperor appoints governors (janak) for each quarter of the empire, traditionally the counties, tribes and settlements are allowed to choose their own representatives (hajat) who rule according to local laws and traditions, so long as they give regular tributes and reports to the emperor in return.

Structure
Government
Dalra is ruled by a dynasty which traces its lineage back to Paxatres, legendary founder of the early dalran kingdom, who in some traditions is a descendant of Aka Ortí, patron god of the Dalrans. The current ruler (hap) is Kúlúrates, son of Jarjóxes. While the emperor appoints governors (janak) for each quarter of the empire, traditionally the counties, tribes and settlements are allowed to choose their own representatives (hajat) who rule according to local laws and traditions, so long as they give regular tributes and reports to the emperor in return.
Provinces
Dalra is divided into four quarters (stó), each of which are further subdivided into four counties (jú). The four provinces are Eþanstó to the north, Vakúlstó to the east, Nórlastó to the south and Jasústó to the west. There's also a disputed region on the western border with Imkala, which may one day become a fifth province1.Languages
All official documents and monumental inscriptions are trilingual, namely in dalran, vanran and þekkalic. A number of other languages are used throughout the empire as well, of which Enmohó and Húlpakric are the most widespread, both spoken and in written form.1Main article: Dalro-Imkalan War.
