Nómek Plain

The Nómek Plain1 is a vast prairie that makes up the region where the continent of Emlas to the west connects to Laxilþía to the east. It's bordered by the Akna Plain beyond the Halax River to the west, the Zamra Mountains to the southwest, Úrtal Sea to the south, Móþon Lake and the Katark Mountains to the southeast, the Tingrenis Plain to the east and Nixma Sea to the north.
It's home to numerous tribes of Nalóxans and forms a buffer zone between the empires of Resak in Laxilþía and Dalra in eastern Emlas.

Geography

The region is mostly flat, aside from the more rugged easternmost part. The climate is mostly temperate, warmer to the south and colder to the north, and is most extreme furthest inland. Winters are usually cold but experience little snowfall, but storms, especially thunderstorms, are frequent and often severe. Because of this, the Dalrans of eastern Emlas often refer to the Nómek Plain as the Thunder Lands.

Fauna & Flora

The Nómek Plain is home to a variety of animals, including deer, wild donkeys and horses, wolves and maned wolves, jackals, foxes, guinea pigs, maras and other rodents, ptarmigans and pelicans. One of the most notable animals are the Nalóxan Hounds, which are actually domesticated foxes raised by native nalóxans for hunting, furs and to huddle against for warmth.
Most of the vegetation are various grasses, some quite tall in certain regions, reaching up to a person's waist, with trees and bushes found mostly to the east, around rivers and streams or along the coast of Úrtal Sea.
