Metal Church
The Metal Church is the beating heart of the Gold Empire's bureaucracy, the will of the Gold Emperor made manifest and the Dragon God's divine body on earth. Unlike its sibling, the Dragon Church, the Metal Church is a highly organized and rigid in its structure, with each person in its vast embrace a cog in the machine that maintains the empire.
Structure
The Metal Church is divided into five branches, which are considered either primary (they are part of the rulership of the entire empire) or secondary (they are responsible for a part of the empire):
Gold
The Gold Church is the Gold Empire's executive branch, and rule the Empire under the Gold Emperor himself. These have prophetic gifts and are the wisest of the priests. These two traits make them ideal rulers. They command the empire's combined economic, military, cultural and political might, and when they say jump you jump as high as you can. They often associate themselves with the Prophet Domain. They are one of the primary branches.
Silver
The Silver church is the empire's bureacracy, they collect taxes, redistribute wealth, keep records, formulate statistics and serve as judges, juries and lawyers. They are associated with the Law domain.
Copper
The Copper Church is responsible for the spiritual needs of the Gold Empire's soldiers, as well as their more pressing economic needs. They ensure that retired soldiers are paid their pension in either gold or land, as well as accompanying imperial armies to aid them in war and bless the souls of the Empire's fighting folk. Most military camps also have a small Copper chappel to take care of the troops. The Copper Church also administrates occupied territories before they are fully incorporated into the empire. They are of the War Domain.
Bronze
The Bronze Church is responsible for the spiritual needs of the Gold Empire's miners and industrial workers. They make sure that mines and other natural resources are exploited as efficiently as possible, while making sure that the workers have their rights protected. Most factories and other industrial facilites have a Bronze chappel, to take care of its workers and offer them guidance both as practical advice on the work they're doing and on matters of faith. Their domain is the Forge.
Brass
The Brass Church takes care of the Gold Empire's magical needs. The Brass priests are responsible for training nobles and other authorized mages in the art of magic, as well as making sure that laws are followed and punishing those who break the Empire's laws on magic, most commonly by sending out witch-hunters. They are also keepers of forbidden magical lore, and many have magical training as wizards and bards for when the Empire needs such skills. Their domain is Arcana, but they also frequently spend their time learning proper schools of magic as neccesity dictates.
