King Tyon I Cray met the Secessionist armies outside The City of Bayglen's South District, where he had presented them terms for a duel - were the rebels to win, they would grant the King and his family safe passage from the capital and his forces would surrender the city to them. However, should he win, the rebels would quit the siege of the city.
The Secessionists were represented ser Tearlach Locke, Lord of Riverfoot.
The two knights were evenly matched, well armoured and skilled in their arms, but ultimately King Tyon won the day. Though the duel had been declared to be fought until one of the knights yielded, when King Tyon put the Locke on his back an existing injury, taken in battle the prior month against Eyla Crane of The Ring of Knives, was aggravated, leading to ser Tearlach's death.
Though the death of ser Tearlach led to new tensions between the besiegers and the defenders, ultimately the rebels honoured the terms and dismantled their siege lines.
