The Phoenix Forge
A sign above the door of this lakeside business depicts a phoenix, with its fiery wings shedding sparks onto a silver anvil. The Smith, Zanfan, is rarely seen in the shop, but he can be glimpsed from a distance, bent over his forge, and the ringing of his hammer is never silent for long.
His apprentices, two strapping youths each outfitted with chain shirts and armaments to ward off potential theives, mind the shop and handle sales. Zanfan's custom equipment is in high demand, and he has been known to disdain requests that he doesn't find interesting. The objects for sale are those whose original commissioners Zanfan deemed unworthy, and he is similarly picky about purchasers.
Architecture
A waterfront building of stone with a broad outdoor forge shielded by a low brick wall. Inside, surprisingly-sparse displays of expertly-crafted weaponry hang on the walls. Furnishings are sparse, save for a heavy wooden desk where Zanfan's apprentices handle purchasing and take orders. A door behind this desk leads into Zanfan's drafting room.
