Imperial Family
The Imperial Family is the ruling family of Exum they are lead by the Emperor who acts as patriarch. All members of the Imperial Family can trace their lineage back to Makonnen. The family is followed by the Imperial Train, the Imperial Court and the Imperial Ten Thousand the country's standing army.
Structure
The Emperor was of course the Chief of State and his eldest child would be named the "heir-apparent," unless they showed themselves to be unfit, who would then be moved to any of the Cold Palaces to live out the rest of their days and the next child given the title.
Those who do not dishonor themselves with treachery were given the title Prince or Princesses of the Second Degree meaning they were still in the line of succession. These Prince or Princesses were required to follow either the Road of Warriors or the Road of Scholars and contribute to the betterment of the empire, if not marrying into the tribes of one of the Pillars. Many taking offices in the Imperial Train or the Thousands.

History
The Imperial Family directly rules no lands. Under the rule of the the Unifier, he delegated direct rule to his three brothers and niece whom he designated the Four Pillars of Heaven and they still rule until this day. The Imperial Family, on the other hand follows Makonnen's Rule stating that his descendants shall hold true tot he ways of their pastoral ancestors, , the Enegua-Eya Tribe,
allowing future emperors to rule four separate countries at once.
