Yungko Yunri
The Yungko Yunri is a powerful kingdom on the western coast of Atux. It is bordered by the Yika Amku as well as the Sìkk Yunri and Kich Mepyukk. Despite the Yungko Yunri being Utoric in structure and government, it primarily consists of Naadi and Komtol peoples and is a close ally of the Yika Amku. The Yungko Yunri was a former territory of the Yika Amku, but the two nations split after a bitter civil war ensued between two noble clans. In the end, the two kingdoms have returned to friendly relations since the civil war, which occurred nearly two centuries ago, but there is no sign of any unification movement, at least none that has gained any traction. The Utoric governmental structure of Yungko, as well as the ethnically Utor royal family, is inherently incompatible with the clan-based structure of the Yika Amku's imperial government. Instead, an alliance keeps the two nations close and has proven to be more beneficial for both parties' interests.
The Yungko Yunri is ruled over by a diarchy, with two Utoric nobles, from differing houses, reigning as equally weighted monarchs. The two kings must decide on judicial and legislative actions together, a convention which was instated to decrease the probability of a king putting his own interests ahead of his subjects. With two rulers, the chance for tyranny and unjust rule is lessened while keeping the government from becoming too dysfunctional as a result of too many equally important monarchs. Currently, the Yungko Yunri is ruled over by an Utoric king and a Naadi queen, with the latter having only recently risen to power upon her husband's heirless death. The rule of a Naadi queen has led to widespread jubilation among the Naadi of the Yungko Yunri, believing the joint rule to be a sign of future prosperity and peace.
The Yungko Yunri is a fairly populous state, reigning over a large and diverse population of humans, opix, goliaths, and other humanoid races. Most of the population resides on the western coast, living in or around various ports. These ports are directly connected to the continents of Pwenlylyn and Fron Aberaelwyd, allowing for the trade of various luxury goods, textiles, and alchemical components between the regions. This has also led to the establishment of mercantile communities in Yungko ports, with half-orc and halfling trade guilds setting up enclaves in these ports. The Yungko Yunri, apart from agriculture, also has a large economic focus on the raising of livestock, primarily horses, and textile production
