Dougal's carriage takes him and Balthazar to the Cathedral and drops off Merakesh and Eli along the way to avoid the police.
Merakesh bids farewell to Balthazar and Balthazar replies in Old Language. Eli gives Balthazar a Grippin Flower to wish him luck. The two get off the carriage earlier to avoid a Police Checkpoint and any discomfort with those of the Church that may hinder Balthazar's trial.
