Dark Interlopers

In ancient times, the Dark Interlopers (sometimes simply referred to as "the Interlopers") were evil Hylians who had attempted to conquer the Sacred Realm and ultimately procure the Triforce by using their fell powers. In response to such audacity, the Golden Goddesses ordered the Spirits of Light (Eldin, Faron, and Lanayru ) to seal up the power the Interlopers had mastered, thus rendering the Interlopers powerless. The Interlopers were then banished to the Twilight Realm. Their progeny would eventually become the Twili race due to their adaptations to the Twilight Realm.
In literature and art, the Dark Interlopers are often depicted as shadowy Hylians wearing black clothing and having inky-black skin and glowing red eyes that lack pupils and irises. Oftentimes, in a display of twisted irony to further sow despair, the Dark Interlopers would take darkened, negative forms of legendary heroes, heroines, rulers, and deities--thus desecrating the idols of good in the eyes of those the Dark Interlopers wished to conquer.
